Origen e historia

Squalene was first identified in shark liver oil early in the twentieth century, and it still carries the name of the shark genus Squalus. Squalane is its stable, hydrogenated form. The part of the story worth telling is recent: olives now supply the majority of the world's squalene, and the ingredient's move away from sharks is one of the clearer wins in cosmetic sourcing.
